ERGOESPIROMETRY/ CARDIOPULMONARY EXERCISE TEST

This test is based on three main objectives:

1. To rule out cardiopulmonary diseases.
2. To identify exercise-induced physiological changes at the cardiovascular level.
3. To evaluate metabolic capacity.

The test offers comprehensive insights into athletes’ cardiorespiratory capacity, including their maximum oxygen consumption capacity (VO2 max). Such data is essential for gauging an athlete’s endurance and tailoring a targeted training regimen to enhance performance. With these findings, training intensity can be precisely adjusted to prevent both overtraining and undertraining.

Requirements for the Examination:

• Schedule an appointment in advance and arrive 20 minutes before the scheduled time.
• Bring identification (ID).
• Limit exercise to a maximum of one hour at low intensity the day before the exam.
